About the Show:
A collaboration with UNC Department of Music.
Join us for a special journey across the night sky, featuring original recorded musical scores composed and performed by by students from UNC’s Department of Music. Scores are timed with fulldome graphics — giving the audience an immersive experience of sight and sound travelling through the Milky Way and beyond. Composers will introduce their piece to describe their creative process. “Symphony Under the Stars” is an official 2023 NCSciFest Full STEAM Ahead event, bringing together art and STEM.
Exhibits Closed:
This ticket does not include general admission to our exhibits. The exhibit hall, exhibits, and museum store will be closed during this special program.
Ticket Availability: limit 10 tickets/order
Tickets for this program will go on sale on 2 weeks prior, and be available online up to one hour prior to showtime. Tickets will be available for purchase in our box office on the day of the program as availability permits.
Members will be able to purchase tickets to the show early starting on Friday 3/17. Since this is a special program, member discounts do not apply to this show. Members must sign-in at the top-right of the page (or register if you do not have a log-in) to be eligible to purchase tickets early. Limit 2-6 early purchase tickets/member based on membership level, limit of 50 total tickets available for pre-sale for members.

Special Program - Note on Discounts:
Symphony Under the Stars is a special one-time planetarium show, and discounts applicable to regular planetarium shows are not available. Members are eligible to purchase tickets early, but no other discounts are available for this program. Guest passes are not eligible to be redeemed for this program. Walk-up discounts such as UNC students and Museums 4 All are not applicable to this program.
Special Program - Refund/Cancellation Policy:
All ticket sales are final and refunds/exchanges are not available for absent guests or unused tickets. Purchased tickets for special programs may NOT be exchanged for admission to another show or guest passes. In the event this program is cancelled as a result of severe weather or other closure, ticketholders will be refunded.
